Rachele is a textile artist with a passion for wildlife and nature, enjoying surface design, printmaking processes and embroidery.
Having always enjoyed creating, but focusing on becoming an accountant initially, Rachele went back to college to complete a HND in textiles as a mature student in 2021. This was a transformative journey exploring so many new processes and enabled her to focus and refine her style. Her work is primarily inspired from the countryside using seed heads and plants to print with and inspire her designs. As well as monoprinting with pressed plants, she draws designs for screen printing building up several layers and adding free machine embroidery stitching. She hopes to bring nature inside through her work giving a sense of calm and tranquility through the shapes, colours and textures that her textiles convey. Rachele is constantly learning and developing techniques, particularly with Japanese textiles such as Katagami and Yuzen dyeing, she enjoys the slow and intricate processes and the challenge of mastering these traditional crafts. website: https://racheledickiedesigns.co.uk/about/ |
